Selecting a Logging Program.

There are so many good log programs out now, that selecting one is strictly a operators preference.

There are programs that are basically just a interface to a spread sheet, ones that have built in DX Cluster connections, and ones that even control the radio, the antenna, and do most of the digital modes.

Another thing to consider if you are a serious DXer or Contester, is the database updated prior to major Contest and Dx-peditions? There are so many unique callsign prefixs that are used during these, that it is hard to determine what there location is. The top programs update these at least Monthly, to make sure you know the location.

One of the most important things to consider when selecting a log program, is its ability to convert there format to a adif format, so it can be exported to sites like eQSL,LOTW, Clublog, and QRZ.com. It also allows you to easily move your log from one program to another.

Below are 10 of the most popular logging Programs. These are not in any certain order of preference. Some of them are Free, and others are not. What ever you go with, make sure that it has conversion to adif files included.

Hint:
Always have your log, or logging program set up to use GMT or Zulu time. Do not use local time. You will thank me later. :)
